I love this
-
we joke and jest but there’s literally nothing more ‘monkey brain’ than the primal urge to climb things
me: *sees any tall structure with features that i could use to scale it*
monkey brain: CLIMB. ASCEND. SCURRY UP THE BOUGHS OF THIS TREE AND FIND A SUITABLE VANTAGE POINT TO STRATEGICALLY SURVEY YOUR SURROUNDINGS.
me: alright, i’m up. now how do i get down?
monkey brain: use tail to maintain balance and JUMP!
me: we don’t have a tail, remember? we evolved beyond it.

Worlds
Let the world come to me
You, she, they whomever has it
Chained to yesterday with a half
Lullaby and half prayer made out
Of all the times we almost had it together
And all the times what was left of you
Was picked up carefully from our bedroom floor
Like a kind of neon glass aching to bleed
Let it come to me, as broken as she could be
So that we could start on today
And maybe tomorrow with the entirety
Of who I know I can be
-
there’s nothing poetic
about the way sadness
burns you down
until you’re nothing more
that the remains
of who you once were
but it’s much more poetic
to rise from those ashes
like the phoenix you are;
to rise from the sadness
and let yourself soar
away from everything
that tried to engulf you(cc, 2019)

If it were true
If happiness had a face
And you could reach out and touch her
Soft cheek and caress the tears from her face
Because I don’t know who would cry more
Than happiness
She would have your soft green eyes
And your slightly crooked smile
A painting slightly askew
A favorite pen warn down
Receipts of love and care
A face of a thousand name.
And I’m my old age I pray I look back
And maybe learn from these half thoughts
And quarter heat breaks that.
All the poems I have wrote were about you
I just didn’t know it yet

People who prefer hot weather: Snow and ice are a pain, and the cold is just kind of uncomfortable even when you wrap up, you know?
People who prefer cold weather: MY SKIN LITERALLY MELTS OFF EVERY SUMMER I AM A FUCKING HUMAN SOUP AS WE SPEAK
you wouldn’t believe how many people reblogged this to whine about hot weather in the tags.
too cold? put on another layer!
too hot? change into thinner clothes!
still too cold? put on another layer!
still too hot? uh, get naked I guess?
still too cold? put on another layer!

The cold is easily shut out, the heat is inescapable hell
THE TRUTH COMES OUT.
Avoidance techniques for the cold:
-more coats, fire, hot food and drink, stay inside, fuzzy sweaters, ear muffs, become a burrito
Avoidance techniques for heat:
-die, I guess.
FUCK. HEAT.
Ok. @the-mighty-birdy I say this EVERY FUCKING DAY AND NO ONE ELSE AGREES WITH ME
FINALLY
Someone GETS it! 😂😂
